Can you swim in the Seine in Paris?
Answer: Yes, currently, as part of a one-time project called “Paris Plages” swimming has been allowed in the Seine for the first time in 100 years, with 3 specific free sites designated for swimming. These are Bercy (near the Simone de Beauvoir Bridge and Bercy Park), Grenelle (opposite Île aux Cygnes and near the Eiffel Tower), and Bras Marie (in central Paris).
Note: These sites are temporary and open for swimming only until August 31, 2025. After that, they will be closed to visitors. However, the Paris City Hall intends to work on areas that will be permanently open in the future.
