What to wear on a dinner cruise in Paris? Is there a Dress Code?
Answer: Well, dinner cruises in Paris are known to be more romantic and upscale than regular sightseeing cruises, and quite a few cruise companies that operate dinner cruises ask passengers to arrive in appropriate attire.
But what exactly does “appropriate attire” mean? well, in many Paris companies, such as Bateaux Mouches for example, passengers are asked not to come to a dinner cruise (or lunch cruise) wearing sportswear, flip-flops, Bermuda shorts, or baseball caps. Does this mean you will definitely be denied boarding if you arrive wearing one of these? Not necessarily, but they reserve the right to refuse entry.
On any dinner cruise, you’ll see some men in suits and women in elegant evening dresses, but alongside them, you’ll also see plenty of men and women dressed in ordinary, everyday clothing that’s not particularly formal. In short, you probably don’t need to show up in a tuxedo or ball gown for a dinner cruise, but to stay on the safe side, we recommend arriving in appropriate attire - long pants, regular shoes, and standard evening wear.
